Phil Pegler

Phil has over 30 years of experience as a teacher and was the Head of Performing Arts at Naenae College in Lower Hutt for 10 years prior to joining Music EDnet in Sep 2016. He has a Masters in Education from Massey University and continues to keep abreast of emerging trends in education and technology.
Phil is a multi-instrumentalist and his wide teaching experience (including as an itinerant woodwind teacher) along with several years operating his own business as a lighting & sound engineer and producer, means he has an excellent and very practical understanding of both the music industry and music education. Over recent years he has taught all levels of secondary music, including Music Technology and Performimg Arts Technology as well as Diplomas (NCEA Level 4) in Performing Arts Technology and Production Sound Recording.
As a current board member of MENZA he is actively involved in supporting professional development programs throughout New Zealand and the advocacy of music in education.
